Environmental Studies Program

Program Information

The Environmental Studies Program is designed to serve a variety of students concerned about environmental issues and change. The program provides a thorough, holistic view of the environment and human-environment interaction and the technical skills for active participation in an environmental career.

Students who wish to major in Environmental Studies may select a Bachelor of Sciences or a Bachelor of Arts program through the College of Arts and Sciences or a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies through the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. Every degree option will provide students with a fundamental understanding of environmental and social sciences. Through our program, students will…

  • Become prepared to address environmental issues facing our planet both today and tomorrow.
  • Enter a program with an interdisciplinary core curriculum emphasizing the physical, biological, and social sciences and policy development and application.
  • Obtain knowledge necessary to identify, analyze, and resolve environmental problems.
  • Take courses to develop your learning, organizational, oral, and writing skills.
  • Participate in meaningful opportunities for internships, study aboard experiences, and preparing a senior thesis.
  • Receive personal advising attention as they progress through the undergraduate academic program.

In addition to a set of ENVR major core courses, students will also be trained in a specific academic emphasis.
