Cabela's UNL Educational Scholarship

This scholarship is an exciting opportunity for motivated students to be rewarded up to $2,500 per academic year with the opportunity for renewal. The qualifications include a strong academic performance; have graduated from a Nebraska High School; and, be eligible for Federal Pell Grant and also be a full-time student.

DoD Science, Mathematics And Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship for Service Program

Established by the Department of Defense (DoD) to support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing technical degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. The program aims to increase the number of civilian scientists and engineers working at DoD facilities. They are seeking students in the field of Environmental Science. Scholars in the SMART Scholarship for Service Program receive:

  • Full tuition and education related fees (does not include items such as meal plans, housing, or parking)
  • Stipend paid at a rate of $25,000 - $38,000 depending on degree pursuing (may be prorated depending on award length)
  • Summer research internships
  • Health Insurance allowance up to $1,200 per calendar year
  • Miscellaneous Supplies Allowance of $1,000 per academic year
  • Mentoring
  • Employment placement at a DoD facility after graduation.

Udall Scholarships

The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to college sophomores and juniors for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to Native American nations or to the environment. In 2019, the Udall Foundation anticipates awarding 50 scholarships of up to $7,000 each. The Udall scholarship honors the legacies of Morris Udall and Stewart Udall, whose careers had a significant impact on Native American self-governance, health care, and the stewardship of public lands and natural resources.

The Brower Youth Awards

Earth Island Institute established The Brower Youth Award for Environmental Leadership in 2000 to honor renowned environmental advocate David Brower, who was quoted as saying “I love to see what young people can do, before someone old tells them it’s impossible.” It is with this spirit that we recognize the outstanding leadership efforts of young people who are working for the protection of our shared planet. Each of the six recipients of the Brower Youth Awards will receive a $3,000 cash prize, a professionally produced short film about their work from an Emmy award winning film crew, and flight and lodging accommodations for a week long trip to the San Francisco Bay Area. During their stay in California, the recipients will participate in a coaching, visioning, leadership activities, speaking and media engagements. We invest in their continued success by providing ongoing access to resources, mentors, and opportunities to develop leadership skills. The week of activities culminates in the awards ceremony in front of more than 800 guests in San Francisco

Annie's Homegrown Sustainable Agriculture Scholarship

Since sustainable and organic agriculture is at the heart of Annie’s Homegrown, the company awards annual Sustainable Agriculture Scholarships as financial support for the newest generation of farmers committed to sustainable farming practices. Eligible candidates who are U.S. undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an accredited sustainable or organic agriculture program must submit a three-paragraph essay describing their future career goals.
