Senior Environmental Studies student, Haley Nolde, just finished a semester working full-time at the Nebraska Recycling Council. Nolde shared how she received the job, “I was hired as an intern a year and a half ago. I attended a compost conference and talked with the executive director at the time and my boss suggested that I would be a good fit with NRC. I interviewed a few months later and have loved my position ever since. The passion I have for the environment has expanded during my time at NRC.” Nolde is now finishing her degree to graduate in December 2021. Nolde shared how the Environmental Studies Program impacted her, “I'm now the Recycling Associate at the Nebraska Recycling Council. The Environmental Studies Program has given me so many valuable skills and support.” When asked what advice she would give to current students Nolde stated, “My advice to current students would be to try anything and everything, there are so many avenues you can take. Be an active learner and make connections with people you enjoy. Lastly, don't be intimidated because you are capable. You can't control the waves but you can learn to surf!”
